FDA warns consumers not to use certain hand sanitizers

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is advising consumers not to use any hand sanitizers manufactured by Eskbiochem SA de CV in Mexico. These products potentially contain methanol (wood alcohol), which can be toxic when absorbed through the skin or ingested.

FDA tested and identified that some of the company’s hand sanitizers contained methanol. Consumers exposed to hand sanitizer containing methanol should seek immediate treatment.
